In this class, we will discuss a number of different philosophical issues that arise or appear especially relevant in light of recent advancements and growing societal awareness concerning the possible (mis)uses of various (so-called) artificial intelligence applications, e.g. ChatGPT. We will address a fairly broad and heterogeneous range of philosophical issues in a series of two-to-three session blocks, and students are encouraged to suggest topics of particular interest. Where applicable, we will work with the AI tools in question in the context of group work exercises.

The primary course language is English, but students are welcome and encouraged to express themselves in German if needed, and someone will translate as necessary.
